Walk into most glamping fields and you know exactly what you’ll find: neat rows of tents, lovely enough, but all much of a muchness. We wanted something different. Something with more room to spread out, somewhere proper to sit in the shade with a drink, and a shape you’d spot from the other side of the field and think, “that’s The Pop-Up Hotel.”
So we went to the people we trust most with canvas.
The brief
We’ve worked with Bell Tent Sussex for years. They have a habit of pushing outdoor hospitality further than anyone else, which is exactly why they were the only team we wanted on this.
Our brief was short and ambitious. We needed significantly more floor space inside, a generous shaded area outside for lounging, and a silhouette that stood apart from anything else in the field.
They didn’t just meet it. They came back with an entirely new tent.
Enter Burt
Burt was designed specifically for The Pop-Up Hotel. He’s roomier, breathes better on a hot afternoon, and has a look all of his own. He’s become something of a signature for us; plenty of returning guests now tell us that Burt is their Pop-Up Hotel stay, and we’re not about to argue.

Two hundred Burts and counting
Every great tent needs a great crew. Our bespoke tents are now owned by Glamping Adventures, the premium setup company that manages our accommodation builds and brings Burt to every event in our season.
This year alone they pitched two hundred Burts for us, and did it beautifully. They care about the detail as much as we do, which means every guest walks into the same standard of stay, whether it’s their first night with us or their tenth.
