Glastonbury 2027 ticket dates are officially on their way, from October 1st to be precise! The countdown is on, group chats are stirring back to life, and somewhere in Britain, somebody is already building a spreadsheet.
After a fallow year in 2026, Glastonbury Festival returns to Worthy Farm from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027 – and the first big hurdle is almost upon us: getting a ticket.
The key dates for your diary are:
- Ticket + Coach travel: 6 pm BST, Thursday 1 October 2026
- General Admission: 9 am BST, Sunday 4 October 2026
- Registration closes: 5 pm BST, Friday 25 September 2026
General Admission tickets cost £408 including the £5 booking fee, plus postage and packing, with a £100 deposit per person payable when you book.
At The Pop-Up Hotel, we’ve been welcoming guests during Glastonbury since 2011, so we’ve witnessed our fair share of ticket-sale Sundays: the celebrations, the near misses, the frantic WhatsApp messages and the occasional person who discovers their registration details are wrong approximately 30 seconds before they need them.
There is no magic trick for guaranteeing a Glastonbury ticket, and anyone claiming otherwise should probably be treated with suspicion. But good preparation can prevent avoidable mistakes.
Here’s how we’d approach it.
1. First things first: check your registration
Before worrying about broadband speeds, bank cards or who has the calmest head under pressure, make sure everyone hoping to go is properly registered.
Everyone aged 13 or over on 23 June 2027 needs their own valid registration to buy a ticket. If you’re already registered, you don’t need to register again, but it’s worth checking that your existing details are correct and that your photograph still looks like you.
Registration closes at 5 pm BST on Friday 25 September.
Don’t leave this one until Friday afternoon. Give yourself time to sort out any problems before registration closes.
2. Build your Glastonbury six
You can book for up to six people in a single transaction, so ticket day is a great time to use teamwork.
Get your group organised well in advance. Everyone should know exactly who is in their booking group and have the correct registration details ready.
A shared document containing each person’s:
- Full name
- Registration number
- Registered postcode
…can save a lot of frantic scrolling through messages when it matters.
One important rule: avoid duplication and confusion. If someone in your group successfully completes the booking, tell everyone immediately.
This isn’t the moment for three people to discover at the same time that they’ve all been trying to book for Alan.
3. Decide whether you’re going for coach tickets
Your first opportunity comes with the Ticket + Coach travel sale at 6 pm on Thursday 1 October.
Coach travel can be a very convenient way of getting to Glastonbury – and it gives you an additional sale in which to try for tickets, but only choose it if you’re genuinely happy to travel that way.
If you secure a Ticket + Coach package, you must travel on your designated coach. It can’t subsequently be converted into a General Admission ticket.
So have the conversation with your group before ticket day rather than at 5.59pm.
If coach travel works for everyone: excellent. You’ve got your first shot on Thursday.
If it doesn’t, Sunday morning is your moment.
4. Be early, but don’t try to outsmart the queue
This is an important one.
The Glastonbury ticket process has changed from the days when people endlessly hammered refresh and hoped for the best.
Under the current system, people who are already on the official ticket page when the sale begins are randomly assigned a place in the queue. Anyone arriving after the sale has started joins the back.
So get yourself settled and onto the correct page a few minutes before the sale begins.
Once you’re in the queue, stay there.
Don’t repeatedly refresh. Don’t open a forest of tabs. Don’t convince yourself at 9.03 am that you’ve discovered a technical loophole overlooked by hundreds of thousands of other Glastonbury hopefuls.
Follow the official instructions and let the queue do its thing.
Sometimes the least exciting tactic is the best one.
5. Get your ticket-day HQ ready
You don’t need to transform your kitchen into NASA Mission Control.
You do want the basics working properly.
Charge your device. Make sure your internet connection is stable. Plug the laptop in. Have your registration details somewhere immediately accessible.
And perhaps postpone the enormous software update your computer has been asking you about for the last fortnight.
Ticket morning is also not an ideal time to discover you’ve forgotten the password for something important.
The goal is simple: remove as many potential distractions and points of failure as possible before the sale starts.
Tea is optional but recommended.
6. Have the money, and payment approval ready
For 2027, you’ll need to pay a £100 deposit for each ticket when booking.
If you’re purchasing for a full group of six, that’s £600, plus the relevant coach fares if you’re buying Ticket + Coach packages.
Make sure whoever is likely to make the booking has sufficient funds available and a suitable payment method ready.
It’s also worth remembering that banks can sometimes request additional authentication for online payments. Have your phone nearby and make sure you can access your banking app or whatever verification method your bank uses.
Getting through the Glastonbury queue is exciting.
Getting through the Glastonbury queue and then discovering your bank wants to send a security code to a phone sitting upstairs is somewhat less exciting.
7. Don’t panic when you reach the booking page
You’ve made it.
Your heart rate has doubled. Someone in the group chat is typing entirely in capital letters. This is exactly when preparation earns its keep.
Slow down just enough to enter the information correctly.
Use the registration details you’ve already prepared, check what you’re entering and follow the booking process carefully.
Speed matters, but accuracy matters more.
Copying a registration number correctly the first time is much faster than entering it incorrectly three times.
8. Only use the official ticket seller
This one is non-negotiable.
Glastonbury Festival tickets are sold exclusively through See Tickets, and tickets are personalised and non-transferable.
If you miss out in the main sale, don’t be tempted by somebody on social media offering a spare ticket, a suspicious resale website or a friend-of-a-friend who apparently “knows someone”.
Glastonbury tickets feature the registered ticket holder’s photograph, and identity checks are part of the process.
Stick to official channels.
9. If you miss out, it isn’t necessarily over
The Sunday morning “SOLD OUT” message hurts. We know.
But being unsuccessful in October doesn’t automatically mean being unsuccessful for 2027.
Historically, further opportunities have arisen later in the Glastonbury calendar, including the official resale of returned tickets. Keep an eye on Glastonbury’s official announcements rather than assuming your Worthy Farm dreams are finished.
There are also legitimate ways of experiencing the Festival through certain volunteering and working opportunities, although these come with commitments of their own and shouldn’t be viewed simply as alternative ticket-buying routes.
Persistence is part of Glastonbury.
10. And once you’ve got the ticket, think about where you’re staying
This is the bit we’re particularly qualified to talk about.
