Heading to the British Grand Prix this summer? You’re in for a high-octane weekend of thrilling racing at the home of British motorsport – Silverstone. Whether it’s your first time attending or you’re a seasoned veteran, there’s so much to look forward to, from the on-track action to the off-track entertainment.
The Pop-Up Hotel is thrilled to be part of the 2025 British Grand Prix as the first in-track hospitality provider, located right in the heart of Silverstone. We know how to do race weekends in style and comfort. So, with help from our friends at Paddock Passion, we’ve rounded up the top tips to help you make the most of your Silverstone experience.
Where is Silverstone Circuit?
Silverstone is located on the border of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire — fun fact: the circuit actually straddles both counties! It’s around a two-hour drive from London. If you’re travelling by train, the nearest major stations are Milton Keynes Central, Banbury, and Northampton, with shuttle services or taxis available to the track.
When is the 2025 British Grand Prix?
This year’s British Grand Prix takes place from Friday 4th July to Sunday 6th July, hosting Round 12 of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. It also marks the 75th British Grand Prix in F1 history.
Alongside Formula 1, you’ll also get to witness Formula 2, Formula 3 and British F4 in the same weekend!
Top Tips for the 2025 British Grand Prix:
Plan Your Journey
“You’re going to the British Grand Prix.” Sounds exciting, right? The next step: plan ahead. Whether you’re travelling daily or staying on-site, having a clear plan will make the experience far smoother.
If you’re driving, map out your route early. Silverstone is surrounded by narrow country roads that can become congested, especially on race day. If you’re taking public transport, the closest train stations are Milton Keynes, Banbury, and Northampton. From there, catch a local bus or taxi to the circuit. There are also coach services from various UK locations that drop fans directly at the venue.
Wear Comfortable Footwear
Silverstone is big. At 5.891 km in length, it’s one of the longest circuits on the F1 calendar, and that means a lot of walking.
From your accommodation to your grandstand seat, fan zones, parking areas, and gates, you’ll be covering some serious ground. Pack your comfiest shoes and prepare to rack up your step count!
Prepare for All Weather
British summer weather is famously unpredictable, and Silverstone is no exception. Last year’s race, won by Lewis Hamilton for a record-breaking ninth time, started dry, featured a mid-race shower, and ended under clear skies.
Check the weather forecast before you travel and prepare for all conditions. Bring a waterproof coat, jumper, and wellies if rain is likely. If sunshine is forecast, pack sun cream, sunglasses, a hat, and stay cool.
Stay Hydrated
The on-track action can be intense, and so can the weather. July often brings high temperatures, so staying hydrated is essential.
Bring a refillable water bottle and make use of the water stations located around the circuit. If you forget, don’t worry, there are plenty of food and drink stalls where you can buy refreshments.
Arrive Early, Stay Around After the Races
As the saying goes, “The early bird catches the worm.” Arriving early will help you beat the queues and make the most of the full race-day experience. With Formula 2, Formula 3, British F4 and support events on the schedule, there’s action all day!
And don’t leave straight after the chequered flag. Silverstone has a host of evening entertainment with concerts, fan zones, merchandise stalls, and more.
The Pop-Up Hotel will be hosting exclusive events and entertainment across the weekend, with some exciting announcements coming soon. Stay tuned!
